Texas Supreme Court: No Evictions In State Until Next Month

By order of the Texas Supreme Court, eviction hearings and trials statewide are blocked for a month in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The court ordered on Thursday that justice of the peace courts will hear no eviction proceedings until after April 19th. Evictions for criminal activity or imminent threat of physical harm will be allowed. Eviction papers can still be put into the pipeline in the month ahead, but they won't be served until after April 19th.
