In an update to the city's emergency declaration, public gatherings of more than 50 people are now prohibited in the San Antonio city limits. Mayor Ron Nirenberg made the announcement on Monday. The ban includes stadiums, arenas, meeting halls, and event centers. Bars and restaurants are exempt, but city officials say they'll offer them guidelines for operation. Also exempt are places that have already taken precautions, such as hospitals, grocery stores, churches, and the airport.
