GOP Incumbent Sitton Loses Railroad Commission Primary

The Republican challenger to incumbent Ryan Sitton of the Texas Railroad Commission will run in the general race this fall. Jim Wright, the owner of an oilfield waste services company from Robstown, defeated Sitton in Tuesday's GOP primary by 55% of the vote to 45%.  Sitton was running for his second six-year term on the three-member board, which regulates the state's oil and gas industry. On the Democratic ticket, there'll be a runoff between Chrysta Castaneda and Roberto R. "Beto" Alonzo
