SeaWorld San Antonio cut the ribbon and officially opened its newest attraction, Texas Stingray today. The Texas Stingray is the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster in Texas. SeaWorld park president Byron Surrett, attraction conservation partner Harte Research Institute’s Dr. Danny Coffey, and San Antonio Visitor Alliance CEO Sharon Aguillen cut the ribbon signifying the opening of the ride. Also in attendance were students from the neighboring Vale Middle school whose mascot is the stingray.
Coaster enthusiasts young and old lined up to be among the first to ride this record breaking coaster that includes a 100 foot drop, 16 airtime moments, a 100 foot tunnel, and cruises at speeds of up to 55 mph. The thrilling ride is the fifth in SeaWorld San Antonio’s portfolio of exciting roller coasters.
