A park patrol officer is now stationed at Benavides Park after the fatal shooting of a 16-year old boy on Sunday. Police Chief William McManus, the city manager, and leaders of the San Antonio Housing Authority attended a community meeting at St. Timothy Church on Thursday evening. McManus told community residents he'd have a crime-fighting plan drawn up for their area within two weeks. For now, an officer will be at the park for 20 hours every day, effective immediately.
