The number of registered voters in Texas now tops 16 million, a new record. The total is up eight-percent from last year. A spokesman for the nonprofit group MoveTexas.org says the voter registration numbers may be growing faster than the state's population for the first time. He says most of the increase is happening in urban areas such as Harris, Tarrant, and Travis counties. The last day to register to vote in the March 3rd primary is February 3rd.
