Cedar Park Woman's Body Found, Common-Law Husband Charged With Murder

Police Crime Scene

A missing Cedar Park woman's body has been found, and her common-law husband is now charged with her murder. Police say the skeletal remains of 30-year-old Amanda Gordon turned up in a burn pit in Bastrop County. Pending DNA identification, the remains are thought to be Gordon's on the basis of other items found at the scene. Police arrested 32-year-old Samuel Byrd on suspicion of killing Gordon. Investigators found blood in his home and in the back yard, and the body turned up on property owned by Byrd's business associates.
