Bullet Didn't Penetrate Officer's Vest, HPD Chief Says

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo now says a bullet didn't penetrate the bulletproof vest of an HPD officer who was shot and killed on Saturday. Acevedo tweeted on Wednesday that the vest worn by 32-year-old Sergeant Christopher Brewster actually performed as it should. Acevedo had stated Monday that a bullet may have pierced the vest, leading to concerns about the vests' safety, and speculation that the suspect may have fired armor-piercing rounds. The suspect, 25-year-old Arturo Solis, is charged with capital murder.
