The Texas Workforce Commission is lowering the unemployment insurance tax rate for 2020. TWC announced today the rate would be one-point-one-four-percent for 2020 down point-eleven-percent from this year. The commission is not planning to charge employers any deficit tax next year because the Texas Unemployment Compensation Tax Fund is above its statutory minimum required balance. The tax is at its lowest point since 2009.
