Another Explosion At Port Neches Plant Prompts Further Evacuations

Multiple evacuations are being ordered due to another explosion at a Port Neches, Texas plant. Jefferson County says people living in Port Neches, Groves, and Nederland need to get out now, especially those near the TPC facility. A tower collapsed at the plant this afternoon and there are concerns other explosions could happen.

Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick said, "I am calling for the mandatory evacuations of Port Neches and Grove effective immediately. I know of no injuries. All personnel were accounted for in the latest round, but in an abundance of caution we need to evacuate as quickly as possible."

TPC Group officials say a tower collapsed during the latest explosion. The blast sent a large fireball into the sky along with thick smoke.

In the first blast left three people with minor injuries. They were all treated and released from a hospital.  Jefferson County Emergency Management officials expect the fire to burn out.
