Texas Democrats Sue Over Ban On Mobile Voting Places

Election Day: Polling place

The Texas Democratic Party is suing over a new state law that bans polling locations that aren't open every day of early voting. House Bill 1888, passed by the legislature and signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott earlier this year, banned "mobile voting" sites with a requirement that polling locations be open on all days in the early voting period. The lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court claims the law will make it harder for thousands of Texas voters to cast early ballots.
