Astros Fire Executive Over Comments Made To Female Reporters

League Championship Series - New York Yankees v Houston Astros - Game Six

The Houston Astros are firing an executive following comments he made to female reporters. The comments were made as the team was celebrating the ALCS victory over the Yankees.

The team announced the firing of assistant general manager Brandon Taubman today saying his conduct does not reflect the values of the organization. They also admitted to being wrong when they defended Taubman several days ago by calling a Sports Illustrated story fabricated.

Taubman was accused of using explicit language towards reporters when describing how happy he was the team traded for Roberto Osuna. Osuna was suspended for 75 games over domestic violence accusations and one of the reporters was wearing a domestic violence awareness bracelet. The Astros say they did not mean to minimize domestic violence issues.

The Astros are in the middle of the World Series against the Washington Nationals. The Nationals are leading the series 2-0.
