World Series Could Mean Up To $9M Per Game For Houston Economy

World Series - Washington Nationals v Houston Astros - Game One

Local economists say the World Series could bring up to nine-million-dollars per game into the Houston economy. An executive with the Greater Houston Partnership estimates the average visitor will spend about a thousand-dollars per game. That figure includes the cost of transportation to Houston and back, plus hotels, bars and restaurants, and sports memorabilia, plus maybe a museum. All that spending could add up to 36-million-dollars if four games are played in Houston. In addition, Houston gets free PR.
