Police and firefighters were pulling residents of the Oak Hills Village Apartments to safety ahead of a fast moving two alarm fire early Sunday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Heavy smoke and flames were pouring out of the back of the complex when the first fire crews arrived about 1 AM. Fire companies were forced to 'go defensive' to prevent the flames from spreading.
11 apartments suffered damage, with eight suffering extensive damage.
The Red Cross was called in to help the residents who lost everything.
Arson investigators are looking into the cause.
