25 Year Old Man Charged With Threatening Mayor Nirenberg

Police say a 25 year old man has been arrested for allegedly sending multiple threatening messages to Mayor Ron Nirenberg, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say Adam Converse sent the threats to the Mayor's Facebook page using Facebook Messenger.

In one of the rambling letters, Converse allegedly wrote 'It would be nicer to leave you all dead with no hope of life after death.'

Other messages demanded money, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police say when Converse was arrested at his home, he was carrying a machete.

He was charged with making a terroristic threat against a public servant and was taken to a hospital for observation.
