Congressman Bill Flores Announces Retirement

Central Texas Congressman Bill Flores is retiring. The Bryan Republican announced today he would not seek re-election next year to fulfill a commitment made in 2009 to spend a maximum of 12 years in office. He also cited a desire to spend time with his wife, aging parents, children, and grandchildren. Flores is promising to stay active in politics. He was elected to Congress in 2010 and has served as Republican Study Committee chair from 2015 to 2017. The district, located in the middle of the state, includes Waco, College Station, and Bryan.
