Stabbing Turns to Standoff in North Side Apartment

A stabbing in a north side apartment early today turned into a police standoff, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police were called to the 1900 block fo Larkspur, which is near West Ave and Lockhill-Selma, about 2:30 AM, after a woman ran out of an apartment at the Castle Hills Town Homes bleeding from two stab wounds.

The woman told officers a man inside an apartment had stabbed her, and he was still inside armed with a gun and a rifle.

As officers arrived, the suspect fired a shot inside the apartment.

Residents of adjoining apartments and an apartment complex next door were evacuated as negotiators were brought in.

The woman who was stabbed was treated at the scene and is being questioned by detectives.
