The lead actor of the countercultural classic film "Easy Rider" is dead. Peter Fonda died this morning at his Los Angeles home. He was 79. Fonda was the son of one of Hollywood's legendary actors, Henry Fonda. His sister Jane and daughter Bridget are also in show business. Fonda co-wrote the 1969 film and produced it. Easy Rider celebrated its 50th anniversary last month. The film earned him his first Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay. He also earned a Best Actor nomination for 1997's Ulee's Gold.
