It was a special day for those attending Space Center Houston in Houston today. Today is marks the 50th anniversary that man walked on the moon for the first time and Houston became known as "Space City." Nearly 600-million people watched Astronaut Neil Armstrong take the first steps 50 years ago today. Apollo 11 Flight Director Gene Kranz says he still remembers the cheering and excitement coming from the Houston control room, as the lunar module landed right before running out of fuel. "Houston" was among the first words ever uttered in space and historian Douglas Brinkley says the city is viewed as the Vatican of space. Memorial celebrations are taking place across the nation today.
