The mother of former First Lady Laura Bush is dead. Jenna Welch passed away on Friday in Midland less than two months before her 100th birthday. Bush posted on Instagram her mother was a true daughter of West Texas who loved stargazing, her family, and books. Bush says she will miss Welch greatly. The Bush family is asking memorial gifts to either be made to the Midland County Public Library Foundation or the Jenna Welch Nature Study Center.
