House OKs Curbside Voting For People With Young Kids

Election Day: Polling place

A bill to allow parents with kids under five to participate in curbside voting now has the preliminary approval of the Texas House. Supporters say the idea is to increase voter turnout by making it more convenient to vote. State law already requires curbside voting for disabled people. The new measure allows local election officials to decide whether to offer curbside voting for parents with young children, but doesn't require them to do so.
