Sheriff's Civilian Employee Fired After Arrest

Will the last person to be fired by Sheriff Javier Salazar please turn out the lights on your way out?

The termination machine has been busy at 200 Comal Street over the past several weeks, with more than a half dozen deputies and civilian personnel fired by the Sheriff for various infractions.

And now, Michael Bryant Thompson, 35, can join them.

Salazar says Thompson, who was a probationary civilian intake officer at the Bexar County Jail, was immediately canned after he was arrested over the weekend in Sutton County, which is Sonora, in west Texas, for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a State Jail Felony.

“There is no way this person did not know the consequences of his actions. His short career with the BCSO is now over,” Salazar said

Thompson was hired in October.
