All signs point to former congressman Beto O'Rourke throwing his hat in the ring for 2020. The Texas Democrat told Vanity Fair "I'm born to be in it" referring to the race for the White House. In an interview released today for the magazine's April cover, O'Rourke said he wants to do everything humanly possible for the country at this moment. Recent polls show O'Rourke is still popular with Democratic voters months after losing a close race to Republican Senator Ted Cruz. O'Rourke called the current political situation the "fight of our lives as Americans."
KTSM TV in El Paso says O'Rourke confirmed to the news outlet that he's going seek the Democratic nomination. A formal announcement could come on Thursday.
