Police say an 18 year old man is charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of a 17 year old girl in a car parked on a south side street overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say Manuel Vasquez Gonzalez was getting into the back seat of the car behind Sarah Aguilar. Gonzalez had a gun in his pocket, and when he reached into his pocket to grab the gun, it went off, shooting Sarah.
Bond for Gonzalez is set at $20,000.
A suspect is in custody in the shooting death of a 17 year old girl, who was gunned down as she sat in a car on a south side street overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The shooting happened on Verne Street, which is off Pleasanton Rd.
When police arrived, the victim was unresponsive and bleeding from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A man in the car immediately jumped out and tried to run, but he didn't get far. He was arrested on Shelby Street, which is about ten blocks away, after being tracked by a police helicopter.
So far, police don't have a motive for the shooting.
