Police officers injured in Aurora, Illinois manufacturing plant shooting

Five people are dead in today's shooting at a manufacturing warehouse in Aurora, Illinois, west of Chicago. Aurora police chief Kristen Ziman remarked that police engaged the shooter and killed him. Ziman identified the suspect as 45-year-old Gary Martin. Ziman also remarked that responding police officers immediately came under fire when they arrived at the scene, and five officers were struck. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker offered his gratitude to the officers and his condolences to the families of those who were killed.

Four police officers are reported to be injured and in stable condition following a shooting at a manufacturing plant in Aurora, Illinois, west of Chicago. The suspect in the shooting has reportedly been killed. So far there are no firm reports on how many other people may have been injured or killed, but a news conference is expected soon. A witness to the shooting told ABC 7 that he recognized the shooter as a coworker. He added that the gunman was armed with a pistol.
