..Rain-Sleet mix today and tonight across portions of South Central Texas...
Area of Concern:
Near and north of a Del Rio to San Antonio to Bastrop line.
Expected Accumulations: The sleet, where it falls, will melt on contact for most locations. The exception may be on elevated roadways and metal surfaces across northern Edwards, northern Kerr, Gillespie, Llano, and northern Burnet counties this morning where freezing temperatures could support some very light sleet accumulations.
Timing and Overview:
An upper level disturbance will produce a rain-sleet mix today across portions of South Central Texas. This morning through the early afternoon the sleet potential will be near and north of a Del Rio to San Antonio to Bastrop line. Late this afternoon and tonight the sleet potential will be near and north of a Kerrville to Austin line. Some very light sleet accumulations will be possible this morning on elevated roadways and metal surfaces across the northern Hill Country. Elsewhere the sleet should melt on contact with the ground. In addition, a few snow flurries are possible across the Hill Country this morning. At this time we are not anticipating significant impacts.
