Former San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro is jumping in the 2020 presidential race. Castro, a Democrat, officially announced his bid for the White House this morning not far from the church where he was baptized. The former Obama staffer calls himself a son of San Antonio and says he's extremely proud of his Mexican heritage. Castro says he's running for presidency to ensure every citizen has the same right and opportunities for the American dream. He says it's time for new leadership, new energy and a new commitment to equality.
