Are San Antonio Spurs fans willing to pay extra to boo Kawhi Leonard as he returns to the A&T Center tonight?
The after market ticket reseller TickPick tells News Radio 1200 WOAI that $45 tickets to tonight's Spurs-Raptors game, which will be Leonard's first return to San Antonio since his acrimonious departure last summer, have been selling on line for as much as $289.
Leonard's return has made an otherwise ho-hum early January non conference game into one of the hottest tickets of the year. TickPick says tickets for tonight's game are as hot as tickets for LeBron James' Lakers in October, and the Spurs game against the League Champion Warriors in November.
Coach Gregg Popovich has a typical response to questions about Leonard's return.
"You move on in life," he said. "We're not going to redo what has happened in the past."
Spurs fans on social media are also getting ready for tonight's reunion. One fan suggested that everybody attending the game record Leonard's unique laugh on their phones, and all play the laugh in unison when Kawhi is introduced.
The game can be heard, like all Spurs games, on Spurs Radio 1200 WOAI with Voice of the Spurs Bill Schoening. Tip at the AT&T Center is set for 7PM.
