Parents Warned Not To Let Kids Buy Dangerous Phone Case

Parents today struggle over when to give their kids their first phone. They worry their children will become addicted to the screen or have a drop in their attention span or just spend too much time on it altogether. Now, it turns out there is another issue with the phone to give parents anxiety - the case it's in.

A California police department turned to Facebook to issue a warning for parents about one case in particular that could wind up getting their son or daughter killed. That's because the case is shaped like a gun.

While it comes in different colors, one of those colors is black, and if a kid is seen walking around their school with their phone in that case shoved in their back pocket, there could be a lot of trouble.

In the caption on Facebook, the police warned:

"Regular citizens will see it and call 911 and then law enforcement will respond accordingly for a subject with a gun call. At minimum, someone will be proned out on the ground until the LEOs can secure the 'Phone case' or someone could potentially get shot depending on their actions when LEOs respond."

Problems with cases like this have already started. Earlier this year, a Florida high school had to be placed on lockdown when a student reported a classmate with a gun in his pocket that turned out to just be the phone in the gun case.
