Hurricane Florence has been downgraded to tropical storm.  The National Hurricane Center says Florence is producing tropical storm force wind gusts on the Carolina coast.  Life threatening storm surges are expected to continue through the night.  Parts of North and South Carolina are expected to be hit with catastrophic floodwaters.  Maximum sustained winds remain at 70 miles-per-hour.  Over 16 inches of rain has been reported at several locations along southeastern North Carolina.
