Another Bexar County Deputy Arrested Sunday Morning

Another off-duty Bexar County Sheriff's deputy was arrested early Sunday, the second deputy to be arrested this week and the 18th BCSO arrest in 2018, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Sheriff Javier Salazar says the deputy was arrested for Assault (Bodily Injury-Family Violence) and will be fired immediately.

The Sheriff's office says the female deputy recently switched from full time to part time status, so has no civil service protection and can be terminated immediately.

The deputy worked as a detention officer.

“My practice is to handle each case as swiftly and severely as is allowable by law," Salazar said.  "To maintain the integrity of this organization, we will continue to do so, and additionally, will be announcing more proactive steps on Monday morning.”
