Woman Charged With Attempted Capital Murder For Shooting at Boerne Cops

A 45 year old Boerne woman is facing two counts of attempted capital murder after she allegedly opened fire on two police officers who answered her call that there was a burglar in her apartment, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Boerne Police were called to the Vista Apartments on Crosspoint about 4 AM Friday for a report of an intruder trying to break into the apartment occupied by Melissa Rowley.

Officers found no evidence that anyone was or had been trying to break in, but after they left, Rowley allegedly called them back three minutes later, telling them someone was trying to spray a substance under her front door.

When officers found no evidence of that either, they turned to leave, but Rowley yelled for them to return.

At that point they say Rowley pulled a handgun and started shooting at the officers.

They did not return fire, but took cover behind their patrol car and told Rowley to put down the gun, which she did, and was arrested without further incident.

The officers, identified as Pablo Morales and Nicholas McWright, were not injured.
