Mexican Mafia Members Sentenced to Life for Killing Balcones Hts. Officer

Two members of the infamous Mexican Mafia prison gang were sentences today for ordering the murder of Balcones Heights Police Officer Julian Pesina, who was gunned down in front a tattoo parlor he operated on Hillcrest Drive back in 2014, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Testimony at the trials of Jesse Santibanez, 30, and Alfredo Cardona, 27, indicated they gave the order to have Pesina shot, because he was falsely claiming to be a member of the Texas Mexican Mafia, and even sported a Mexican Mafia tattoo, while he was also serving on the police force.

Hit man Ruben Reyes pled guilty to the crime and is serving five life sentences.

Testimony indicated that when the gang leaders learned that Pesina was actually a police officer, they put out a contract to have him killed.

He was shot to death by Santibanez and Cardona when they arrived at a meeting between Pesina and Reyes, which turned out to be a set up.
