Several San Antonio area companies are on the new list of the nation's best employers for women, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Ranking high on the Forbes list is USAA, which is in the top 65 of the 300 companies that made the list.
Forbes points out that USAA is also number 11 on its list of the best overall employers for women, and number 32 on its list of the best employers for diversity.
H-E-B also makes the list, just the latest in a series of lists of quality employers that the San Antonio based grocery chain appears on.
Branching out somewhat, Texas State University in San Marcos is on the list, as is Austin based Chuy's.
One of the top ten employers listed as best for woman is Austin based Keller-Williams Realty.
Other key Texas based companies that rank well on the survey include Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Southwest Airlines, and Toyota USA.
Forbes says it surveyed male and female employees of the companies, including studying coverage of them in the media. Categories include pay equity, workplace culture, and a woman's ability to balance career and lifestyle, as well as to achieve career goals.
The number one employer in the country when it comes to women is the Iowa based Principal Financial Group.
