Justin Verlander pitched a gem in a hostile environment as the Astros edged by the Dodgers 2-1 in Los Angeles. Verlander racked up 14 strikeouts and pitched into the eighth inning to get the win. George Springer nailed an RBI-double in the second inning, and Jake Marisnick scored on an error during the play. Houston joins Boston as the only teams in the MLB with 70 wins. Joc Pederson nailed a leadoff homer for the Dodgers, but the offense went dry after that. Alex Wood took the loss.
