Arson Investigators Probe Cause of Northwest Side Walmart Fire

Firefighters say a northwest side Walmart store is now an 'active arson scene' after a fire caused 'heavy water and smoke damage,' NewsRadio 1200 WOAI reports.

Firefighters say when they arrived at the Walmart on Vance Jackson just east of I-10, fire was burning in some storage pallets behind the building.

The busy store had to be evacuated, and crews managed to put out the fire without injury.

But fire crews tell 1200 WOAI news the fire caused smoke damage throughout the store, and left 'at least an inch or more of water' in the entire store.
