The Number of Violent Gang Members Entering Texas is on the Rise

The Border Patrol in the Del Rio Sector says its agents have arrested four members of vicious Mexican and Central American gangs while they were trying to sneak into the U.S. just this week, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The latest was a member of the Mexico-based prison gang Sueno 13, who was arrested trying to enter the country in Eagle Pass.

“Gang members continue to cross the border, and attempt to head farther into the United States among groups of illegal aliens,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Felix Chavez. “Due to the vigilance of our agents, four gang members were stopped from making their way to American cities through the southwest Texas border this week.”

The Sueno 13 member had been arrested before trying to sneak into the U.S. before and had been deported, so he may be allowed to stay in the country---in a federal prison---for two years and then be deported.  Re-entry following deportation is a federal felony.
