Sheriffs deputies made a nauseating discovery when they were serving a routine drug warrant at a home in west Bexar County Tuesday afternoon, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Sheriff Javier Salazar says the body of a baby, 'dried out and desiccated,' was found inside a trunk in a closet inside the home on Bronco Lane, which is in the Lackland Terrace subdivision.
The 12 people inside the home were taken into custody as the investigation continues.. All 12 were released later in the evening.
Salazar says the baby was born alive, but it is unclear how the infant died and whether it was a homicide.
It is also unclear how long the baby had been inside the trunk.
