A west side family lost everything early today when their home was gutted by fire, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
By the time firefighters got to the home in the 400 block of North San Felipe, flames were already shooting out of the back of the home.Fire crews took a half hour to safely evacuate the family and put out the fire, but not after the home had been destroyed.
They think the fire started in a shed behind the house and spread to the home.
No word on the cause of the fire.
