Man Arrested Following Social Media Threat

A man who allegedly made a post on social media threatening to shoot up 'San Antonio movie theaters' is under arrest, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say Shawn Lemoine, 36, was taken into custody without incident at an apartment complex on Fredericksburg Road in Balcones Heights.  He was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant.

Police say the South Texas Fusion Center, which is an cooperative agency of the San Antonio Police Department, other local law enforcement officials, and the Department of Homeland Security designed to smooth cooperation in the face of threats, had gotten a report from a police agency in Louisiana that Lemoine has posted 'alarming statements,' on his Facebook page including a photo of an assault rifle and the words 'theater's coming soon.'

The Fusion Center listed the alert as part of its 'situation awareness' campaign.

Police didn't say what Lemoine's motives may have been, or why he wanted to attack movie theaters.  Apparently no specific theater was ever mentioned.  Homeland Security and the FBI are participating in the investigation.
