Mexican Mafia Hit-Men Convicted in Officer's Murder

Two hit-men for the Mexican Mafia are facing mandatory sentences of life in federal prison after they were convicted in the murder of Balcones Heights police officer Julian Pesina, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Pesina was shot to death as he left his tattoo shop on Hillcrest on 2014.

What got Pesina killed was his bizarre 'double life.'. Prosecutors say Pesina was selling drugs out of his tattoo shop and claiming to be a member of the Texas Mexican Mafia while also serving as a police officer.

Jesse Santibanez, 29 and Alfredo Cardona, 36 were convicted of murder in aid of racketeering.

Two other Mexican Mafia members have pleaded guilty in connection with Pesina's murder.
