Hotel Valencia Riverwalk Named Top Hotel in S.A., #2 in Texas

Top honors for two San Antonio hotels today as Conde Nast Traveler released the results of its annual readers survey, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The Hotel Valencia Riverwalk was named the best hotel in San Antonio and number two in the entire state by the 300,000 Conde Nast Traveler readers who participated in the survey.

Hotels were gauged by the travelers on the basis of factors ranging from service to amenities to location.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by discerning travelers for these prestigious honors,” said Hotel Valencia Riverwalk General Manager Trent Freeman. “This past year has been a milestone year for us, as we completed our $10 million renovation, and it’s gratifying to see that our guests have responded favorably to the reimagined Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. The Conde Nast rankings reinforce the appeal of our dedication to ‘Timeless Hospitality’ and support our commitment to providing our guests with a keen sense of place, thoughtful amenities, timeless design and attentive service.”

Other local hotels which received top rankings from Conde Nast readers include the Emma at number five in the state, The Mokara at number eight, the La Mansion del Rio at number 12, and the St. Anthony at number 16.

In the resort category, the La Cantera Resort and Spa ranks tops in San Antonio.

"This is our first honor from Condé Nast Traveler as the newly transformed La Cantera Resort & Spa. We are grateful and humbled by this distinction especially that it comes directly from readers and travelers who have experienced our Hill Country oasis," says John Spomer, vice president and managing director.

The number one hotel in Texas is the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt in Austin.
