Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton blatantly disrespected a female reporter during a press conference Wednesday.
Newton scoffed when reporter Jourdan Rodrigue of the Charlotte Observer asked him about passing routes.
"I think it's funny to hear a female talking about routes," Newton said grinning broadly. "It's funny."
One of Rodrigue's media colleagues, Bridget Condon, shared footage of the bizarre incident via Twitter not long after Rodrigue herself responded to Newton's comments via her own Twitter account.
"I don't think it's 'funny' to be a female and talk about routes. I think it's my job," she wrote.

Rodrigue later released a statement saying Newton "not only belittled me but countless other women before me and beside me who work in similar jobs."
She says she gave Newton the opportunity to clarify his meaning, adding the quarterback "did not apologize."
