Man Arrested for Making Threats Against San Antonio on Social Media

San Antonio police say a man who had threatened violence in the Alamo City equal to what happened in Las Vegas has been arrested in Oklahoma City, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police said in a statement that Roderick Lamar Robinson, 39, is charged with making a hoax terrorist threat.  He will also face a terroristic threats charge in Bexar County.

Police say Robinson is the man who, under the name Rod Lamar, threatened violence in an area he referred to as 'the strip,' believed to be a reference to the North Main area north of downtown which is the main street of the city's LGBT community.

"No one is safe on the strip," Robinson allegedly wrote, threatening to 'kill all patrons.'

Police said they notified affected businesses of Robinson's comments and had special police patrols in the area last night as a precuation.

Threats of violence in that area are taken very seriously by police.  It was in that area that one police officer was shot to death and another wounded by a gunman last June.
