Sea World San Antonio Helps Save Animals Abandoned in Harvey

Sea World San Antonio has helped dozens of animals abandoned during Hurricane Harvey find new forever homes in California, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Sea World has rescued 64 animals from shelters in Spring, near Houston, and have flown them to an animal center in Rancho Santa Fe California.Veterinarians at Sea World of San Diego will check out the animals, they will be spayed or neutered, and then placed up for adoption.

Sea World says so many animals were displaced by Harvey that shelters in the Houston area cannot care for all of them.

“Whether we are providing care for the animals living in our parks, or all those we help rescue, we’re living our mission by inspiring others and working together to make a difference in the world,” said Chris Bellows, Vice President of Zoological Operations.
