Long Time 1200 WOAI Movie Critic Bob Polunsky Dies

Bob Polunsky, who reviewed movies for 1200 WOAI for thirty years, has died at the age of 85.

Polunsky's death was confirmed by Temple Beth-El, where he and his late wife Paulina were active members for many years.

Bob was the first professional movie critic in San Antonio, reviewing films for WOAI, as well as for the San Antonio Express News and KENS-TV.  He was a regular guest on the old 'Morning Magazine' show."

Bob was incredibly knowledgeable," long time 'Morning Magazine' host Eliza Sonneland said.  "And he was a lovely, lovely man."

Bob was a native of San Antonio.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of the University of Texas.

Polunsky was a member of the Broadcast Critics Film Association and several other Hollywood associated groups.

Funeral Services for Bob are set for Tuesday morning at 10 at the Temple Beth-El Cemetery on Austin Highway.
