SA Gas Prices Rise, Still Among the Lowest in the USA

Chevron To Cut Up To 7,000 Jobs Due To Slump In Oil Prices

San Antonio's average gas price was up four cents in the past week to an average today of $2.10 across the metro, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

But we're still paying the lowest prices in the state, and some of the lowest in the country, according to AAA Texas.

AAA says the increase is due almost entirely to the seasonal increase in summer vacation driving.  A couple of things will happing to hold down prices in the coming months.  The summer driving season will end when back-to-school hits..and refiners will begin turning out less expensive winter blend gasoline.

The statewide average today is $2.17, with the highest prices in Dallas, where they are averaging $2.23.  The national average is $2.36, with the highest prices for the lower 48 states in California.  The average price in San Francisco, for example, is $3.13.
