Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Overnight Racing Accident

A motorcyclist was rushed to the hositial in extremely critical condition overnight after he was involved in a wreck while he was racing another biker down I-35, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say as the two were traveling southbound at a high rate of speed, a car changing lanes cut off one of the motorcyclists.

He lost control, slammed into a retaining wall, and then skidded for more than 35 feet, ending up on the opposite side of the highway.

Police say the fact that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet likely saved his life, but he still suffered multiple injuries and is in intensive care at SAMMC.

The car that cut him off and the guy he was racing were both long gone by the time police got there.
