Lengthy Sentence for Man who Looted the Red Berry Mansion

One of the two men who looted the Red Berry Mansion back in 2015 today was sentenced to forty years in prison, 25 years more than his plea bargain called for, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Kenneth McGraw Jr was arrested along with his father trying to sell some of the items from the historic east side mansion.

The mansion is owned by the City, and in March of 2015, City employees realized that several items were stolen from the historic home on Genbler Road, which the city rents out as an event venue.

McGraw and his father were arrested after Crime Stoppers got a tip that they were selling the property.

Some of the items the pair stole are still missing.

McGraw Jr. agreed to a plea bargain arrangement and was going to be sentenced to fifteen years in prison.

But on the day he was supposed to be sentenced, last October, McGraw failed to show up in court, and ripped off his ankle monitor.

He had to be arrested and today he was sentenced as a habitual offender.  He could have gotten 99 years.

McGraw, Sr is still awaiting trial.
