Police say a suicidal man drove his car right into the path of an oncoming 18 wheeler on Rittiman Road on the City's northeast side early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
But the man managed only to make a big mess. Officers say his car glanced off the cab and knocked off the fuel tank, spilling about 70 gallons of Diesel onto the road.
Hazardous Materials crews had to work all morning getting the fuel off the street in time for morning rush hour.
he driver of the car told police he wanted to kill himself. He was taken into custody for 'emergency detention' at University Hosptial.
The driver of the big rig was not hurt.
